Safety Committee
Objectives
Promote workplace safety awareness, encourage safe work practices, and support implementation of applicable safety standards for the benefit of the membership.
How Members Are Involved
Members participate in discussions about workplace safety concerns, help identify recurring issues, and assist with communicating safety information to members.
Responsibilities
Advocate for safer working conditions, support safety education and awareness, and provide recommendations on safety matters affecting members.
Bylaws Committee
Objectives
Review the Local bylaws and rules, identify areas that may need clarification or updating, and recommend revisions when needed.
How Members Are Involved
Members review current language, discuss proposed changes, gather feedback, and help prepare recommendations for leadership and membership review.
Responsibilities
Analyze bylaws for clarity and consistency, draft proposed amendments or revisions, and support transparent and consistent Local governance.
Finance Committee
Objectives
Assist in reviewing the financial operations of the Local and promote accountability, transparency, and responsible budgeting.
How Members Are Involved
Members participate in reviews of financial reports, budgets, and spending priorities, and may assist with recommendations for future financial planning.
Responsibilities
Review financial records and reporting practices, provide recommendations regarding expenditures and budgeting, and help ensure responsible stewardship of Local resources.
Entertainment Committee
Objectives
Plan and organize social functions and membership engagement activities that build solidarity and encourage participation.
How Members Are Involved
Members help brainstorm event ideas, coordinate logistics, communicate event details, and encourage member attendance.
Responsibilities
Coordinate social and recreational functions, assist with event setup and outreach, and support efforts to strengthen morale and unity within the Local.
Election Committee
Objectives
Support fair, orderly, and transparent Local elections consistent with the bylaws and applicable election rules.
How Members Are Involved
Members assist with election preparation and administration, including nominations, voting procedures, and related election coordination.
Responsibilities
Help facilitate election procedures, support ballot handling and counting where appropriate, and maintain neutrality, confidentiality, and professionalism throughout the election process.
