Bargaining Report #1

Bargaining Report Number 1 CWA-Catalist

Over the past several months, your CWA Bargaining Team has met with The Catalist Bargaining Team in an attempt to negotiate a fair first contract for our members at Catalist.

The Union and Catalist have presented multiple proposals. Both Catalist and the Union have shown respect to each side’s views and have held many productive conversations.

Catalist proposals have been centered around Management Rights, including No Lock Down No Strike language with a few proposals designed to protect the company legally. The Union has presented many proposals including Union Recognition, Union Security and Payroll Deductions.

The Union has also made proposals to address paid time off and quality of life issues. These proposals include Sick Leave, Paid Holidays, Paid Jury Duty, Bereavement, Hours of Work, and Vacation Time. There have been productive bargaining sessions addressing all of these issues.

At this point the Union and Catalist have reached tentative agreements on a few foundational issues that will help the bargaining continue in a positive manner.

The Union has made proposals on grievance and arbitration language, Union Representation and Non-Discrimination and Diversity Language.  Catalist has made counter proposals on all of these and your CWA Bargaining Team will be meeting to discuss and prepare counter proposals.

The Union has presented multiple proposals concerning economics, including wage increases, wage schedules, improvements to the 401k plan as well as job security language.

On February 10th the Union presented proposals on a Joint Health Care Committee, Parental Leave, Military Duty and Winter Closing.

The Union and Catalist have agreed to reconvene on March 11th and tentatively scheduled 3 more meetings beyond the March 11th date.

Your CWA Bargaining Team has presented a comprehensive set of proposals to Catalist and we are looking forward to discussing their counter proposals as well as their own proposals.

“WHEN WE FIGHT WE WIN “

In Solidarity,

Your CWA Bargaining Team
