Insurance Coverage for Strikers

There have been questions regarding Verizon’s letter to striking CWA members saying that our health care benefits will be discontinued at the end of April should we still be on strike.

Anyone who has a chronic health issue requiring medication treatment or doctor’s visits please contact the Local to self identify in the event we are on strike and you will need coverage.  Our community services committee will forward information to the National and they will make a determination of wether to cover you or COBRA back as needed.  NO MEMBER will be denied necessary health care.  

Any non-emergency surgery scheduled after April will not be covered and will need to be rescheduled.  No non-emergency medical care will be covered. Please take care of physicals and routine care prior to the end of the month. including dental and eye appointments.
