Fellow CWA Members:
The Union and BattleAxe met yesterday for our first bargaining session to begin negotiations toward a fair first contract. The parties discussed how we will approach bargaining and agreed that exchanging information and proposals ahead of sessions, when possible, will allow for more productive conversations at the table.
A large portion of our session focused on the makeup of the bargaining unit. Because BattleAxe has a unique and collaborative work structure, the parties spent time discussing how certain roles function within the organization and how those roles fit within the bargaining unit.
