CWA/PIW BARGAINING REPORT # 6

The Union and the Company met today Wednesday, November 16, 2016 for a second day of contract bargaining. The morning session started with the Union submitting to the Company a proposal on “occupational safety & health”, with the focus of the discussion being on the safety. The Company submitted their proposals to the Union, with both sides presenting their concerns on the various articles being discussed. The Union and Company has covered a lot of bargaining issues during these negotiations, but we still have a ways to go.

The afternoon session was spent getting clarity on some of the issues being discussed. The Union and the Company will be preparing proposals on economic issues during the month of December, and has agreed to meet with dates tentatively scheduled for January 2017. During this holiday season, we’re asking YOU the members to stay engaged by participating in any mobility efforts, and various workplace socials put on by the Union.
