Local CWA members, workers’ rights activists and community allies rallied outside T-Mobile’s corporate headquarters on Wednesday to deliver 15,000-signature petitions urging the company to stop silencing women who speak out against sexual harassment.

AT&T’s plan to transform its massive network by 2020 — with software running on standard computing gear replacing specialized hardware — has communications equipment suppliers and much of the IT industry abuzz. That’s partly because AT&T (NYSE:T) will lower capital spending if successful.

Three former cell phone salespeople in Washington state have been sued by AT&T Mobility for allegedly helping unlock thousands of cell phones so the devices could work on any wireless network.

CWA locals representing AT&T workers in two District 3 locations held unfair labor practices strikes last week. Both locals reported a successful resolution of issues that provoked the strikes. In New Orleans, above, members of CWA Local 3410 walked out on Aug.

The reports, in the New York Times and ProPublica, used NSA documents obtained from former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.
